Dear Friend,

Today I could not help but to think of you. You see, I'm convinced that God has a unbelievably unique calling on your life. He wants to do so much more than you can possibly imagine; he wants to blow you away with His goodness.

But the truth of the matter is, so often we give up; we give up on God. When life begins taking a different turn we begin questioning His goodness. We begin doubting that He really does have anything for us. We lose hope. We lose the dreams that we once held close to our hearts. Instead we begin believing that "this is our lot in life" and that special, unique callings are for other people, not us.

In case you didn't know, I understand these feelings because I too have been there. You see, while attending seminary I had big dreams for my life. I had pictures in my mind of what my life would look like. I was excited about the doors that God was opening up. And then before I knew it, my dreams were shattered. I was hurt and bruised by those that I thought I could trust. I even reached a point where I wanted nothing to do with God or His people. Everything that I had worked so hard just crumbled right before my eyes. I lost a piece of me and I lost the dreams that once filled my heart with joy and anticipation.

It was during this time that God led me down another road….the road of education. Never in a million years did I think God would use me as a teacher. But He did and before I knew it, I was an administrator at a school who was pursuing her doctorate degree. And again, never in a million years did I ever think that I, little ol me could actually go after a doctorate degree.  I mean c'mon, I was the girl in high school who not only failed geometry, but I had to take what was known as the "stupid" math courses so that I could graduate. Quite frankly, I hated math and I just wanted to be done with school. Once I graduated I figured I would go to the community college for two years and get my office assistant degree and be on my way to working for someone else for the rest of my life. Little did I know that God had different plans. And here I am today, the girl who hated school at one point, nearing completion of her doctorate.

Then in June of 2011, I resigned from my educational job so that I could stay home with my little boy while also pursuing My Soul Mission full-time. Truthfully, I was scared. How would we make ends meet? What if I failed? What if I had heard God wrong? What if, what if, what if. But yet, deep down inside I knew I had to step out. I had to step out in faith if I ever wanted to experience God move like never before. And so I did. Little did I know that within a few months, God would be leading me down another path, a path that I would have never of imagined for myself.

Not only has God blessed me with My Soul Mission, but He began opening doors for me to get involved with social media; social media management. Once again, never in a million years did I ever think this would be something that I would be doing. I mean really, I have never worked in Corporate America, I don't have a business degree, and how could I possibly match-up to those who seemed so far ahead of me? But low and behold, God continued to lead and I followed. And before I knew it, He began opening doors for that I could have never of imagined that would be opened.

You may be wondering why the heck am I sharing all of this with you. Well, let me tell you. God has a unique, special calling on your life. Regardless of what you have been through, He's still there. He still wants to do a mighty work in and through you. But just like me…He might have something else for you in mind. Something that you would have never of imagined venturing out into. Something that is completely out of your comfort zone. So many times those things that we push to the side or push away from us, is exactly what God wants to use to get us to a place that we couldn't even begin to dream about. Sometimes, He just wants to mess with our plans.

So today, let me encourage you to be open to the leading of God. Yes, chat with Him about your dreams and goals, but be willing to let Him move you if need be. Remember, what He has for you is so much more than you can even begin to imagine. And that one thing that scares you the most, just might be what He wants to use because ultimately, He wants to shine His glory in and through you like never before.  Don't allow your potential to be limited by who you were in the past or what others have said about you. God sees your potential and He wants to use you like never before.

May you be encouraged to NEVER give up! Give God everything you've got, allow Him to mess with your plans, and step out in faith when He comes calling. He'll blow you away…I promise, I'm living proof of that!

I believe in YOU!
